Epoxy tile grout is composed of epoxy resin and hardener. Epoxy tile grouts have the characters of low water absorption, high weather resistance, anti-stain and anti-mould on surface.

Aspects you need to consider to before epoxy grout construction:

1. Curing time

Epoxy grout has a shorter applying time and it cures much faster than traditional cement grout powder. Once you mix the eopxy resin and hardener together, the mixture will start a chemical reaction. Its surface will be curing very soon if you don't use up the mixture in time. Therefore, it's suggested for a decorator to mix proper dosage of epoxy resin and hardener one time, don't mix too much dosage, otherwise there isn't enough time to use up all epoxy grout mixture for application before the it gets cured, which may cause unnecessary waste of material.

2. Occasion temperature

Before you apply epoxy grouts, you need to consider carefully about the construction occassion temperature, especially for the exteranl construction occasions in sunny day such as outdoor swimming pool epoxy grout projects under sunlight. The outdoor temperature will be higher than indoor, and epoxy grout will be curing in much shorter time than than in indoor occasions. If epoxy grout surface get cured earlier than expected, it will make the cleaning process difficult and some unexpected epoxy grout residues may cause. A better suggestion for outdoor occasion constructions is avoid construction under sunlight or choose another cloudy day to ensure easy construction processes and best effects.

How to ensure epoxy grout construction in perfect effects?

A skillful decorator with experience can make epoxy grout construction perfectly. If for a new hand, it’s better to learn some basic skills before applying epoxy grout construction.

Here are some recommended practical methods for epoxy grouts application:

1.Mix the epoxy resin and hardener in a correct ratio 9:1. It's better to mix them with an electric mixer.

2.Apply epoxy grout mortar with a matched plastic scraper or a suitable rubber trowel.

3.Remove residual epoxy grout mixture using the edge of the rubber trowel. It is important not to wait too long to remove the excess grout so that there is minimal grout residue left on the surface.

4.Wet the surface with water and use a scrubbing pad to loosen the grout residue. After a few rounds of cleaning, the water tends to get sticky with resin residue. Always change the water after a few rounds of cleaning, otherwise, reusing the water will leave a sticky residue on the surface.

5.Final clean the surface thoroughly with clean water and sponge within the day of application and ensure that the surfaces are not sticky.

6.For epoxy grouts in marble flooring, do an on-site polishing to achieve a seamless joint finish.
